How can I have whiter teeth?
SmilePerfect offers in-office professional whitening and at-home whitening kits. In-office whitening yields the fastest results. At-home tooth whitening kits are customized to your needs and are more cost-effective and convenient. Have more severe staining? Consider porcelain veneers, crowns or bonding.
How long will my whitening procedure take?
In-office Zoom! Whitening takes 1 or 2 visits, depending on your desired results and the severity of your stains. While in our office, relax and enjoy the stress-free SmilePerfect atmosphere by watching a video or listening to headphones.
Prefer to whiten at home? Your customized tray should be worn for 1-2 hours daily for several weeks.
How long will the whitening effects last?
Zoom! Whitening lasts up to 5 years. Avoiding coffee, tea and other substances that stain will prolong your new bright smile and restore your confidence. Your dentist will explain how to care for your new white teeth and how to keep them looking their best.
Can my teeth whitening be repeated to maintain the results?
Many of our patients schedule regular six month “touch ups” to maintain their bright smile. How much whiter can my teeth get with Zoom! teeth whitening?
In general, SmilePerfect patients can expect to whiten their teeth anywhere from 6-9 shades lighter, depending on your desired shade and current discoloration. The SmilePerfect team will work with you to discuss achievable goals and the teeth whitening method that suits you best.
How can I prevent my teeth from becoming discolored again?
Maintain your “pearly whites” with regular oral hygiene at home and in-office hygiene visits every 3 months.
- Avoid or decrease exposure to coffee, tea or red wine.
- Brush right after eating or drinking
- Avoid abrasive toothpastes that wear down your protective enamel.
Does tooth whitening hurt?
Some temporary tooth sensitivity may occur after the bleaching process. This can be easily alleviated with an over-the-counter pain reliever. You may also want to brush your teeth with a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth for several weeks before your tooth whitening procedure.
